I’m still trying to understand whats going on but an update from Crowdstrike has been crashing computers running Windows. Systems going into the old Doom Loop (System starts up then go straight into a blue screen of death).
This is why the cloud is bad. When something breaks it doesn’t just screws up a company for a while but it screws up globally.
The way I see it 90% of companies are all digital / paperless. Instead of paying some other outside company to handle their MSP services and cyber security they should hire their own team to handle it. Also it would help if they stopped using the home consumer operating system Microsoft Windows and use Linux instead. Yea they’re probably using Linux on the backend but put Linux on the frontend as well.
Most on site IT techs these days are just call center jockeys and doesn’t know crap. For a example I went to a office to install a PC based access control system and my job was to wire up the controllers and their IT guy was to program it. He didn’t know anything at all and it wasn’t like the controller used a programing language to program it or to set it up. It used a web UI and followed the directions. Basically if you can install a program you could set this up. Went there a total of 10 times for a couple of weeks to get this going. I honestly could of done it in an hour.
We honestly need to take a couple of steps back in the IT world and quit depending on the cloud to do everything and leaving outside companies run the backend of these companies.
