Retro PC Build – Custom ISA Card

Along with the build I need a few things done to the system. First is a keyboard. I was looking around eBay for a PS/2 or AT keyboard and they’re too expensive. I don’t want a cheap-o membrane type but a mechanical keyboard. To get around this I am going to use a Pi Pico that will convert a USB keyboard to PS/2 and is also AT compatible.

When I was deciding on this I started to think about the ability to have XTIDE as well. Dunno if it will even been needed or not. So searching for a ISA prototype board I found a 16bit ISA card for twenty bucks after shipping.

The plan is to have the keyboard adapter, option ROM for XTIDE and maybe a diagnostic circuit as well.

The diag card is gonna be a simple one. I don’t need to see post codes but I would like to see the power supply rails, Turbo button status and maybe a few other things.
